Polish-Norwegian research programme renewed

The Research Council of Norway and the Polish National Centre for Research and Development (Narodowe Centrum Badan i Rozwoju) has recently signed a new programme proposal for cooperation in the 2011-14 period.

The framework for the new four-year period of Polish-Norwegian research cooperation is €36.8 million. The research programme will be headed by a board with three Polish and two Norwegian board members. 

The general target of the programme is to increase research cooperation between Norway and Poland. Focus will be on the environment and climate, health, polar and social science research. Three million euros are earmarked for gender equality research.

The new programme period will give emphasis on the themes of carbon capture and storage (CCS), environmental monitoring and biodiversity, renewable energy and energy efficiency, health, judicial cooperation, cultural heritage and cultural exchange, and voluntary organizations in Polish-Norwegian cooperation.
